Dental Plates
Dental plates, also known as false teeth or dentures, are removable appliances which can be made of a variety of materials to best suit your individual needs and budget.
They fit snugly over the gums to replace missing teeth and eliminate potential problems caused by gaps such as difficulty eating or impaired speech, whilst aiming to improve the appearance of your smile and giving you back your confidence!
PARTIAL plates replace 1 tooth, or a few missing teeth, using your remaining teeth in part for enhanced stability
COMPLETE plates replace all your upper or lower teeth, and are an excellent opportunity to not only improve your speech and eating function, but also to give you a brand new beautiful smile!
Appointment 1
Impressions of both arches will be taken to help the laboratory technicians configure how your teeth bite together
Appointment 3
We will now be able to fit you with a special “try-in” model of your dental plate to ensure you love the look and feel of your plate before it is returned to the laboratory to be completed with its permanent materials
Appointment 2
2 weeks later the laboratory technicians will have finished making a special tray and a bite block for us to take more precise impressions with. You will also be able to decide the shade of your new teeth
Appointment 4
At your final appointment your completed dental plate will be assessed to ensure it fits correctly and comfortably, and you will be advised by the dentist how to place and remove your appliance yourself, as well as how to keep your appliance clean and in tip top condition!
Some dental plates will require additional appointments to those described above; your dentist will ensure you are made aware of any alterations required to this schedule.
